We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Technical Project Manager to work on multiple applications in various states of the Software Development Life Cycle. The ideal candidate would possess 3 or more years of experience managing projects in the software or transportation industry.
Key Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in the software industry
- Self-driven, independent, and accountable
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of curiosity and intense desire to succeed
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to understand business needs, articulate trade offs, and discuss solutions with both business and development teams
- Ability to vet business and technical requirements
- Willing to learn from and freely share knowledge with others, and comfortable participating in cross functional teams
- Able to work independently or on a team, and in a fast paced, dynamic environment
- Natural problem solver with a strong awareness of risk
- Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and comfortable with initially undefined projects
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel knowledge
- Experience and/or knowledge with Java, Python, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and/or MySQL
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and Subversion
- Experience with Waterfall and Agile software development methodologies
Job Description
- Bring structure to one’s own work and the work of others
- Manage a portfolio of complex, fast moving projects in a dynamic environment
- Drive assigned projects and take ownership for their success – both in terms of project delivery and business outcomes
- Develop accurate project timelines and resource estimates as part of the project planning process
- Provide outstanding project management support including monitoring and reporting on the project progress, issues, risks, and results
- Define and coordinate UAT efforts for a variety of projects with development team and business users
- Create and maintain project and system documentation, including development and testing procedures
- Build and maintain strong relationships beyond the development team to work effectively with technical and non-technical business partners
- Analyze and resolve production issues working independently or with the support of the development team
- Thoroughly review and analyze enhancements requests from business users in order to determine level of effort is justified
- Query databases using SQL to support reporting requests and analysis
- Ensure adherence to global systems, standards, and processes
Education
- BS/BA degree or equivalent technical experience
